Monday 1 April - Sandy Lodge
Sandy Lodge
A glorious early Spring morning greeted the 50 Members and guests as they arrived at a course the Society had not visited for many years. Numbers attending were a record for the first meeting of the Society year and was testament to Captain John's last fixture in office.

The Club were most helpful in organising the day with the usage of two tee start, the course being in excellent condition given the vagrancies of the hot weather last Summer.

Many found the greens difficult to read and we heard of several horrific putting stories!

However, winner of the  A.V.Suchak Memorial Trophy was Graham White with 34 points, winning on countback from Ashok Joshi.
Well done to both on this excellent result. It was pleasing to have Anant with us to present his late father's trophy.
Team winners were Messrs Ashok Joshi, Sunil Karia and John(fix it)Foster with 86 points.

All sat down to an excellent carvery after the golf and the unanimous decision was made to return next year on 6th April.
In conclusion thanks must go to Jon Paddon for his excellent work as Officer of the Day, and Maurice Manning, despite  recovering from an operation, for marking the cards  and last but not least to our Captain John Thompson, for all his sterling work and dedication to the Priory throughout his year of office.
